I’m pretty sure that if the boys at Singlecut hadn’t opened a brewery, they probably would have been rockstars.
I mean, for one thing, founder and head brewer Rich Buceta is a self-proclaimed audiophile. The dude loves music. And all of his beers, like today’s Softly Spoken Magic Spells, are named after obscure song lyrics from bands like Pink Floyd and Black Sabbath.
Also, they’re pretty much rockstars already on the New York craft scene.
Not only is their 4.03 brewery rating on Untappd is higher than their all-star neighbors at KCBC and Interboro, but VinePair even called them out as one of the Best Breweries in New York!
Just like the lines that formed whenever Led Zepplin dropped a new record, release days at Singlecut bring crowds of fans clamoring to taste the brewery’s hop juice. And for fans outside the Big Apple, finding today’s beer in their bottleshop is akin to landing backstage passes to a sold-out show: pretty much impossible.
Which is why I knew I had to score today’s beer to share with you all. It’s got a massive 4.20 rating on UT so it’s basically like the brewery’s “Stairway To Heaven.”
Oh, you might want to invite your customers over to split your cans too — this juicy brew sings to the tune of 8.6% ABV and is so deceptively smooth that after a few sips, you might just think you’ve died and actually gone to craft heaven.
Pour Softly Spoken Magic Spells into a glass and float away on aromas ripe citrus. Waves of tropical fruit crash onto the palate as a final touch of resinous pine appears to balance out the symphony of juice.
We recommend enjoying Softly Spoken Magic Spells with a couple of good friends. Head out to the garage, turn on Dark Side of the Moon, and vibe along to the good tunes and great brews from these New York craft masters.
