One of my favorite things about Untappd is the comments. And some of my favorite comments are the ones where people state the obvious.
Just today, I was checking Connecticut Valley’s fresh-hopped Hop Whammy New England-style IPA on UT, and someone left their piece on it saying it “Does taste like Fresh Hops.”
You know, I can’t be too hard on the guy or girl who wrote that one. They may be stating the obvious about this brewery-described “Fresh Hop Explosion,” but holy moly does it taste like fresh hops!
If you’ve never tasted a Fresh Hop beer before, let me describe for you how CT Valley absolutely nails it with their 4+ UT-rated line of Fresh Hop IPAs:
For the star of this show, the brewers choose Connecticut-grown Cascade Hops that are picked in the morning and added to the brew kettle all in the same day. Then, they fill the role of Best Supporting Hop with an abundance of juicy and always dank Galaxy Hops!
Score some limited-release cans of Hop Whammy (2020) and take yourself on a ride through the hop fields of Connecticut! Aromas of cedar and lemongrass billow off the vines, the refreshing coastal air on your back. At the end of the ride, a pristine well filled with the pure golden haze is pulled, flowing with clean and pure hop juice flavor.
What better way to spend a Saturday afternoon than kicked back in Fresh Hop heaven, huh??
I mean, I suppose you could state the obvious and say a better way to spend a Saturday afternoon would be “cruising around the Maldives with Beyoncé on a mega yacht.” But the obvious next-best choice would be kickin’ back with a couple cans of Hop Whammy!
