I was today-years-old when I learned there are actually 5 different types of guava.
Pink guavas are the most sought-after. If you’ve never tasted pink guava, it’s like a combination of strawberry, pear, and mango. It’s quite sweet when ripe, which makes for a killer blend with a Sour Ale base.
Crane Brewing used about 500 lbs of the lush, tropical fruit in their Guava Weiss!
The brewery has been capturing big flavors with their Sour and Saison-focused mastery since 2012. Their honed skills even helped them walk away from last years’ GABF in medal-draped victory!
But their Sour Ales rarely leave Missouri, so there’s a royal rumble on our app whenever we get one. The last fruit Weiss we scored from Crane was rated a palate-pleasing 4.11 from Tavour members — some even continue to hound our inbox looking for more.
Today’s brew is for anyone who loves a refreshingly tart and tangy tropical fruit sorbet but isn’t interested in a Sour that will rip their taste buds off.
